Principal Message
Happy 2025-2026, Leaman Families!
It is an honor to be the principal of Scott M. Leaman Elementary School and to be a part of this extraordinary school community. I am both humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve at a school that has such a strong reputation in our community.
While I am a devoted educator, I am first and foremost a wife, mother, and grandmother. My husband, Josh, and I have a son and daughter who bring us tremendous joy. Our son, Cody, lives and works in South Lake Tahoe and loves working at the local ski resorts. Our daughter, Kiley, and her husband, Zach, moved in with us after finding out that Kiley was pregnant with a very high risk pregnancy. Fortunately, they had a very healthy baby girl, and baby Austyn brings our home so much joy. She is now 2 and half years old and rules the house. Although Kiley and Zach are saving to buy a house of their own, I secretly hope they never move!
We moved to Lincoln Crossing in 2006, and nearly every day, I drove by what used to be the empty lot that would one day become our school. When I saw the construction of our school taking place, I would often think to myself, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if I could work at that school one day?” I never actually thought it would happen, but when I learned about the principal opening at Leaman Elementary, I recognized that I had a rare opportunity in front of me. I knew that I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to serve at a school that is in the very community in which I live. What an honor it is to be serving in the community I love.
The upcoming school year will mark my 26th year in education. While the vast majority of my career was spent in the classroom, the past nine years of my career have been in leadership positions at the district and site levels. While working in a district office, I served as the coordinator of instructional technology where I worked with the entire district to improve teaching and learning through technology. For the past six years, I have had the privilege to serve as the principal of both a K-8th school and TK-5th grade school where I worked alongside staff, families, and community members to improve the teaching and learning for all students.
I can't wait to see what the 2025- 2026 school year has in store for us. I look forward to our first day of school together on August 14th!
